On April 25-26, the Kupiškis Ethnographic Museum (address: Gedimino g. 2, Kupiškis, 40129 Kupiškis district) will host an exclusive virtual reality experience “Creation of Worlds”. The work by directors Kristina Buožytė and Vitalijus Žukas will provide an opportunity to get to know MK Čiurlionis in a new way and immerse yourself in the creative world of this genius.
The directors, who previously presented to Lithuania and the world "Paths of Angels" based on the paintings of MK Čiurlionis, this time invite you to a new journey. Here, a portrait of one of the most famous Lithuanian artists and composers unseen by many, surprising and extremely mystical, will be revealed. According to the directors, "Creation of the Worlds" will invite the observer to become the creator of his own world. That world, which the colors, music and symbols of MK Čiurlionis will bring to each of us individually.
This virtual reality experience will allow you to immerse yourself in a metaphysical odyssey through Čiurlionis' paintings, which combine archaic myths, religious stories and stories of civilization. It is not only a cultural, but also an educational project, inviting the public to get to know MK Čiurlionis's work in a modern way. Visitors will experience the cycle of creation, prosperity, destruction and rebirth of the world, the motifs of which can be seen in the paintings "The Creation of the World", "The City", "The Flood", "The Serpent Sonata", the legendary "The Tale of Kings" and others.
The uniqueness of this experience is its high level of interactivity. The viewer's gaze influences the virtual environment, determining the height and direction of the flight, and each path choice and action complements the experience. The sound environment, interpreting the music of MK Čiurlionis, was created by composers Rokas Zubovas and Phil Von (France).
"The Creation of the Worlds" will be shown throughout Lithuania from February 28: in permanent spaces (Vilnius, Kaunas, Klaipėda and Druskininkai), during the #PoLietuvą project for 1 month (12 cities) and weekend screenings (53 cities and towns).
